Farmers across China are busy with spring farming work as they use modern machinery to harvest wheat and transplant rice seedlings.
In east China's Jiangsu Province, hundreds of combined harvesters are reaping ripe golden wheat on the field automatically.
Farmers said the local wheat harvest is expected to finished in around a week.
"Our cooperative has planted more than 1,300 mu (87 hectares) of wheat this year. If the weather is good, the harvest will basically be finished before June 5," said Yan Xiulin, head of a grain planting cooperative in Jurong City of Jiangsu.
Yan said the local wheat production will stand at about 5,000 kilograms per hectare.
In Zhuozhou City of north China's Hebei Province, farmers are using rice seedling transplanters on the paddy field stretching about 700 hectares.
"It's the right time to transplant rice seedlings. We will finish the planting in a week. Our village's planting area this year has increased by 10 percent over last year," said Zhang Huilan, a village official in Baichigan Town of Zhuozhou.
